First Tee – Pikes Peak’s Playing It Safe Guidelines

First Tee is committed to the safety of participants, parents, coaches, volunteers, and staff.   In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, FTPP is enhancing our safety procedures for all programming sessions. Below are guidelines, approved by El Paso County Public Health that we are putting into place in order to deliver a safe learning environment for our participants:

Check-in and Check-out

  • Participants must not arrive more than 15 minutes before class
  • Parents may take participant to check in (at least week 1) then MUST wait in car for duration of class time
  • Participants will be given their nametag (to include their specific color group) on the first day and it is the responsibility of the participant to bring their nametag to each class
  • All staff, coaches and participants will be screened and receive a temperature check at check-in prior to class starting
  • If a participant has a cough, fever, running nose, etc. they will not be permitted to attend class

  • Class activities will fully observe social distancing guidelines and all safety measures. Participants will be kept a minimum of six feet apart from other participants and coaches
  • Participants will be strongly encouraged to wear face masks
  • Participants MUST bring their own prefilled water bottle that can easily be identified with initials or other marks
  • Class sizes, inclusive of participants and coaches, will not exceed maximum gathering guidelines
  • Golf balls used for chipping and putting will be given out to a participant for the duration of class and then will be returned to a cleaning bucket at the end of class
  • Range balls will be set out by coaches at each participant’s practice area on the driving range (No reaching into a bucket or den caddie to retrieve balls)
  • Participants will ONLY handle their own clubs (no sharing). If a player does not have a set of clubs, First Tee will provide a set of clubs for them to use for the duration of the session. Participants must bring their clubs home and to class each week
  • All supplies and equipment will be cleaned and disinfected before and after class
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for each class

Staff and Coaches

  • Staff and Coaches will be required to wear face masks
  • Lesson plans may vary from week to week depending on circumstances but will be provided to each coach at least 24 hours prior to class
  • Staff and coaches will clean and disinfect class area and equipment at the end of each session
  • Reinforce social distancing requirements for guests through positive dialogue and education

As a reminder for everyone – HOW TO WEAR A MASK

Due to the fluidity of the circumstances, there may be additional modifications, and we will communicate those changes as soon as possible.
